Project Management
We provide the full range of project management services across the UK to all types of client, whether commercial, private or not-for-profit.
A project has a number of stages including: Forming, storming, norming and performing – and possibly adjourning/mourning
Forming
This involves assembling the team. The earlier the project manager is involved the more successful the outcome is likely to be. The team can include: architect, structural and services engineers, quantity surveyor, contractors and principal subcontractors and of course the client and project manager stop
Storming
this is where they can be initial conflict with working styles. “Different” is not always a negative attribute but does require careful management
Norming
this is when differences have been resolved or at least accommodated and the project manager, as leader, has established the management framework
Performing
if the preceding steps have been accomplished, the skills and enthusiasm team members will be harnessed to the achievement of the overall goal.
Adjourning/mourning
one of the characteristics of construction projects is that the team disbands after their one and only collaborations whether because the project was a one-off, procurement rules dictate a change, or some other reason. This is unfortunate as many teams would perform a second time better than a freshly assembled team.
